I read a nice profile piece of Bleak House Books editor, Alison Janssen, on The Graveyard Shift, CSI and police procedures expert Lee Lofland's blog.
In the comments area, Ms. Janssen remarked that UNCAGE ME, edited by Jen Jordan, is "a short story collection without a leash." She proclaimed its contents to be "startling, beautiful, terrible, and entertaining all at once."
It was eerie for me reading those four words as they were the very qualities -- an unlikely balance -- I hoped to ultimately achieve with my story COW PALACE. The reader, as always, shall be the final arbiter.
